G2G: Your Clients Have Problems

problems, problems, problems and more problems

Hi Friend,

This week has been cold!

As I’m sitting here in Melbourne typing away and I’m wearing the following: thermals, socks, uggs, trackies, jumper and beanie with the heater on my legs and my fingers still feel stiff typing.

I love winter, but it’s taking a bit to adjust to.

Anyways, you didn’t click on here to hear me complain about the weather, I know.

Butttt…. speaking of complaining,

This week I did an incredible training session with an Aged Care Provider for my social media blueprint course.

(Hi Jackie & Mel if you’re reading this :)

One of the things we discussed was truly understanding the target audience's grievances.

So, we brainstormed what problems people over 65 have when receiving home care.

We came up with a few answers but for this tale's sake: they dislike when support workers don’t show initiative within their shifts.

So how does knowing this affect marketing you may ask, that's a training and operational problem right?

Well…

Yes!

But it’s also an incredibly great thing to know to create good marketing.

Clever marketing means communicating with your target audience that you can fix their problems better than any other provider without explicitly acknowledging the problem.

How?

Record a video of a training session with support workers where the theme of the video is talking about how to take initiative at services.

When a client or decision-maker sees this video it is directly communicating that you are solving the problem

you’ll be a much more appealing option than their current provider where the support worker leaves with 20 minutes to go.

Market smarter not harder.

3 AGED CARE MARKETING TIPS OF THE WEEK:

Please stop using stock photos.

They are ineffective.

Are you stopping the scroll for a stock photo of an elderly person laughing and looking at a generic nurse?

Probably not.

Start using real clients, support workers and staff members at recognisable locations.

I can guarantee you’ll get more results.

2. Make getting people involved in social media fun and easy

A big problem that I know many SMM providers face when trying to get personalised content is that people just don’t want to be involved

I get this. I have had the same problem with people just saying ‘ I don’t want a photo’ or ‘Cut me out’

There are two ways to improve this problem:

  1. Make engaging in the content really easy and fun by saying “Hey, can I have you for max 30 seconds? I just want to grab a little bit of content, thank you!”

  2. Management needs to inform the team that they need to get involved as this is marketing to grow the business, it isn’t just for fun (even though it is fun) and we need everyone to engage.

Mix making it easy and it being a requirement and you’ll get much more participation.

3. Attending ACCPA event this week is a content opportunity

All hail Canva!!!!!

Has anyone tried the new updates on canva?

There is a new feature where you can present and record your presentations…

I know what you’re thinking…

‘Cool that’s not that epic liv’…

But they also now have a clicker that you can automatically connect to your presentation through your phone instead of relying on someone knowing where that tiny little remote is!

Give it a shot next time you have a meeting - it’s so good!

Anyways, that's all from me this week.

Appreciate you always,

Olivia

PS The training for the half marathon has continued, but running has been moved to midday because it's freezing (yes, I’m complaining about it being cold again)

PPS this email was made with love, not AI. <3
