Hi Guys, It's Louis again, talking about Search Engine Optimisation again - it's all I ever seem to be talking about however this week there has been a lot of news circling the space.

Rumours circulating Google's SEO Algorithms has been talked about for a hot minute or two...

Usually it revolves around a number of different efforts but the main aim of the game is for businesses to outrank each other so they can be seen as the authority in their niche/industry. For years SEO'ers have created an entire industry revolved around attempting to crack the DaVinci's code that gives a website a higher authority score ranking for various keyword search queries on Google.

The Biggest possible take away was that brand matters - Rand Fishkin released internal documents that where leaked to him as he is one of the most trusted in the SEO space. The said documents showed that it was difficult for small websites to game SEO in order to rise in Google's ranks.

“If there was one universal piece of advice I had for marketers seeking to broadly improve their organic search rankings and traffic, it would be: ‘Build a notable, popular, well-recognized brand in your space, outside of Google search,’” Fishkin wrote in a blog post.

Marketers worldwide are stepping up their investment in brand marketing up from 31% in 2023 and 23% in 2022, according to a December 2023 study from WARC.
